Between the Notes’ Indie Christmas

Believe it or not, the 2020 holiday season is upon us after a tumultuous and uncertain year. Many musicians have had to postpone tours and shift album recording plans, and independent and emerging musicians have been hit particularly hard. In light of that, I’d like to give a spotlight to a few independent artists who have released Christmas songs this year, and hopefully spread some holiday cheer in the process. Give these songs a listen while you wrap those last few Christmas gifts, or finish your online gift orders for friends and family.

Devin Balram – “Christmas At Home”

A proper song for the way many of us will celebrate the holidays this year, “Christmas At Home” is a quiet, yet inspirational song that feels perfect for listening by the fire with a cup of hot cocoa.

Van Andrew and Tori Miller – “A Merry Little Christmas”

Recently seen as contestants on Season 19 of NBC’s The Voice, Van Andrew and Tori Miller’s holiday collaboration is a song of well wishes and beautiful harmonies filled with longing to spend the holidays with someone who isn’t here.

Songs of Water – “Bright Mystery

Songs of Water recently broke their hiatus to record and release a holiday-themed EP titled Bright Mystery. The band is still in great form with their signature peaceful, sweeping soundscapes. You can stream the EP on Spotify and other digital platforms.
