Tuesday Tunes – “26” by Paramore

Today’s tune comes from Paramore’s latest album, After Laughter. While the album is a departure from the band’s established sound, trading pop-punk for an 80s new wave-influenced sound, “26” is a moment of calm amidst the energetic pop.

Backed by an acoustic guitar, lead singer Hayley Williams sings, “Hold onto hope if you got it. Don’t let it go for nobody.” It’s a wonderful and positive reminder, whether you’re weary from the current events in the world, recent natural disasters, or personal struggles. Hope is free. Hope is powerful. Hope is strength. And these days, we sure could use a lot of it.
