I’ve surfaced from the depths of midterm week studying to bring the first of a new weekly series – Tuesday Tunes. I’m shifting the blog to contain a mix of music and film content, so I figured that sharing some of the music I’m listening to each week would be a great way to begin.
First up, here’s Running, a new single from folk musician Austin Basham.
I discovered Austin Basham’s music through NoiseTrade in 2011. His latest release at the time was Little Foxes, an EP I loved that still gets repeated listens in my iTunes. It’s been a little while since we heard new music from Austin so Running was a pleasant surprise. His music contains thoughtful lyrics and well-placed harmonies, horns, and strings that create pleasant atmospheres around each song. I’ve also found that it’s great music to listen to while writing – or in my case this week – studying.
